I am convinced that we can play a good tournament and bring a lot of joy to many people in the homeland,”says Hanning.
People want to”inspire people in front of the TV,”said the 52-year-old,”I also see the tournament as an opportunity to connect and at least feel together. People need some identification right now and also a bit of good humor in this dark time.”
Coach Gislason as the key to success
On Tuesday, the newly formed selection of the German Handball Federation (DHB) flies from Dusseldorf to Cairo, The World Cup opening game rises on Friday against outsiders of Uruguay. Preliminary games against Cape Verde and Hungary will follow. Seven tribal forces are not available due to crowning or injuries.
Hanning sees Coach Gislason as the key to success, “especially in the current situation”.
THW Kiel’s long-standing success coach will be based on his sporting experience, “but also because of his enormous life experience to be the great stabilizer,” says Hanning: “If you have someone on your side who has won everything, that gives you exactly the security that will be necessary.
