The German Handball Association has been able to win 2007-World Champion Dominik Klein as ambassador for the Home World Championship 2019. The long-time national player was officially introduced on Friday at a press conference and is supposed to advertise with “highest energy” for the location Munich.
“The euphoria of the German fans has carried us 2007 to the World Cup title. Let us therefore also make the World Cup an incredible international handball festival in Munich. See you in the Olympics!”, Klein said on the occasion of the event at the Olympic Park in Munich.
“Dominik Klein is one of the faces of German handball. We are pleased that we were able to win him as the first ambassador for the Handball Championship 2019,”said Mark Schober, chairman of the board at DHB:”Dominik and Munich is a perfect match. Next January we will experience a great World Cup season in the Olympics.”
Munich is next to Berlin, Cologne and Hamburg the fourth German playground. The Olympic City of 1972 is the site of the second pre-round group in Germany. The six teams will be either French or Croatian champions. The exact Tableau is not established until the end of June. Game days are the 11th, 13, 14, 16th and 17th January 2019.
