FCA obliges Swiss U21 national players

Football Bundesliga FC Augsburg is pushing ahead with its plans for the coming season and has committed the Swiss U21 national player Ruben Vargas of FC Lucerne.

The 20-year-old middleweight player is expected to have cost around four million euros and will receive a contract up to 2024.

Vargas won last season in 31 games for Lucerne eight goals and prepared eight more hits. He won three games for the Swiss U21 and was already invited to join the A-national team. In addition to Swiss citizenship, he also owns those of the Dominican Republic.

“With Ruben Vargas we managed to commit a great Swiss talent that other European associations were also interested in. Ruben has developed well in Lucerne and is now ready for the next step. We firmly believe that he is a great reinforcement for our team,”said FCA Managing Director Stefan Reuter.

In addition to Vargas, Noah Sarenren Bazee is also changing to FCA. The 22-year-old has been under contract with Hannover 96 since 2013 and is considered a hopeful talent. Bazee possesses both German and Nigerian citizenship and has until now been in the Bundesliga for fifteen jobs.

Augsburg trainer Martin Schmidt is expected on 28th. June the team to the non-public training event.
