Federal trainer Alfred Gislason looks with concern at the potentially drastic impact of the Coronan crisis on the Handball Bundesliga (HBL).
“This is my life, my passion, I have worked almost three decades in the Bundesliga,” the Icelander said in the “SID” interview: “If half a year is not played, This can get many clubs into great trouble. One is already worried about his sport.”
Gislason, who had great success with THW Kiel, SC Magdeburg and VfL Gummersbach, sees the handball on a long and difficult way back to normal. He expects, “that it will take at least a few years to reach the standard again,” said the 60-year-old, “The question is how the sponsors will get out of this crisis economically. This complete uncertainty is already very unpleasant.”
