The world ranking actress Aryna Sabalenka has finished the historic run of Ons Jabeur in Wimbledon and reached a Grand Slam semi-final for the first time.
The 23-year-old from Belarus fought the Tunisian girl on Tuesday with 6:4, 6:3. Jabeur was the first Arab tennis player ever to enter the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.
On Thursday Sabalenka meets the former world-ranking Karolina Pliskova, who is also in the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the first time. The Czech placed in position eight left the quarter-final debutante Viktorija Golubic from Switzerland at 6:2, 6:2 no chance.
The Plaskova trained by the German Sascha Bajin is for the third time among the last four of a Grand Slam tournament, for a title the 29-year-old waits in vain until now. 2016 was in the final of the US Open, but lost to the Kielerin Angelique Kerber.
