Schalke tribe players ahead of uncertain future

Bastian Oczipka and Daniel Caligiuri have been on the field in every single game during the current Bundesliga season and are therefore among the fixed sizes at FC Schalke 04. Nevertheless, the working papers of the two permanent burners expire after the end of the season. What about the duo that stands for stability and deployment in Gelsenkirchen and is highly regarded in the S04 Fan Camp?

After a report by the “kicker”, a decision on whether and how to proceed with the soon 31-year-old Oczipka and the 31-year-old Caligiuri is still pending. In both cases, the focus of the discussions so far has to be the duration of possible new working papers.

The specialist magazine did not exclude: Oczipka could leave the club despite a hundred percent of the minutes spent in the summer and Youngster Juan Miranda would then get his chance at Schalke.

In the case of Caligiuris, the player and the club could not reach an agreement several times in the last months. Since 2017, the German-Italian has been kicking the bucket and running for the royal flowers on both sides in the middle field as well as as as a legal defender. Also with this staff it is still uncertain whether the job will go beyond the summer.

Chances with Kenny are not too good

With more emphasis the Schalker Clubbosse should be looking for a firm commitment from legal defender Jonjoe Kenny. The English Youngster also missed no match for FC Schalke during the current season and is clearly one of the positive surprises of Table Five.

Stand now the player must return to the island after this season, where he is still und er contract at FC Everton until 2022. It seems unlikely that the switchboard will be able to make a firm commitment to 22-year-olds. Even the Toffees did not miss Kenny’s very committed and reliable way of playing on the right defensive outer track.
